SSC CGL Application Fee details

The SSC CGL application fee is Rs 100 for candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories. However, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, all women candidates (irrespective of category), and candidates from SC and ST categories are exempted from paying the fee. The application fee must be paid online through the payment portal.

To apply for the SSC CGL exam, students are required to register on the official SSC portal https://ssc.gov.in. The steps for the online application are given below:

Complete Guide to SSC CGL One Time Registration

First-time applicants are supposed to complete a One-Time Registration. This OTR can be used for multiple SSC Exams. The following are the steps to complete OTR:

  • Click on “New User? Register Now” on the homepage if you are applying for the first time.
  • Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) form.
  • Enter your personal details such as name, date of birth and gender.
  • Provide your contact details, including mobile number and email ID, for OTP verification.
  • Fill in your educational details, including 10th roll number, board name, and year of passing.
  • Submit your photo ID proof details like Aadhaar, Voter ID, PAN, Passport, or any other valid government ID.
  • After successful submission, you will receive your Registration ID and Password on your registered email ID and mobile number.

Steps to Apply Online for SSC CGL 2026

1. Visit the official SSC website and log in using your Registration ID and Password.

2. If you are already registered, use your existing login details.

3. Click on “Apply” on the homepage.

4. Then click on “Apply” in front of the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026.

5. Log in again (if prompted) using your Registration ID, date of birth, and password.

6. Fill in all required details carefully.

7. Click on Submit to complete your SSC CGL application form.

8. Review all details before submitting, as changes are not allowed after final submission.

9. Upload your documents as per the instructions given by the Staff Selection Commission

SSC CGL Application Correction Window 2026

The SSC hasn’t released the information about the correction window, but it is expected to open in March or April. Important details like name, date of birth and photo/sign online can be changed during this correction window. It is important to note that a fee of Rs 200 is charged for the first edit and Rs 500 for the second edit.

SSC CGL Application Form: Mistakes You Must Avoid

  • Wrong Personal Details: Your name, parents’ names, and DOB must be what’s mentioned in your 10th certificate.
  • Incorrect Photo or Signature: Use a white background picture and ensure that it follows the size and format guidelines.
  • Wrong Category Selection: Choose the right category, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, or ST, while filling the form, or it might lead to rejection during document verification.
  • Multiple Applications: Do not try submitting more than one form or it can lead to rejection.
  • Incomplete Registration: Make sure you complete both One-Time Registration and the final application form.
  • Fee Payment Issues: If you are required to pay the fee, complete the payment before the deadline. Unpaid forms are automatically rejected.
