In SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam 2017 the questions of General Intelligence (Reasoning) were almost a cake walk. The maximum number of questions were from Series, Classification and Analogy. However, the number series question was a real tough one but one should always skip such questions because there are others which you can attempt correctly and still score more than 44 marks easily in the Reasoning Aptitude section of SSC CGL Tier 1, 2017 exam.

English Language

This year the biggest surprise we could observe was in English Language section. Surprisingly Comprehension passage got featured in SSC CGL Tier 1 slot 1 exam. However, we believe it should not bother you much if you are good at the language. Instead of English comprehension passage, ‘Cloze Test’ of 5 questions was asked and the level was easy to moderate. Moreover, 3 questions of Jumbled Sentences were also there but again, if you are well-versed with Tier 2 level pattern, it should not create any panic in your mind. However, not all the Idioms and Phrases and One word substitutions were the common ones you need to be good at these topics if you really want to score better than others.

Suggested Order of questions  one should pick to score the maximum in Reasoning Aptitude Section

Food for thought!

Do remember the quote – “When a change happens, only the weak and unprepared tend to collapse.” The surprises that SSC has brought in are not of the level that it should create havoc among the strong minds. Instead, it should work as a blessing in disguise because those that are less prepared will definitely get nervous and commit mistakes during the exam and you can gain an upper hand by keeping yourself calm and composed, no matter what.
