The following documents must be kept handy while filling out the RRB Group D 2026 form:

  • Candidate’s scanned passport-size photograph
  • A scanned picture of the candidate’s signature.
  • A scanned picture of the candidate’s 10th certificate or ITI certificate
  • A scanned picture of the candidate’s government-issued ID proof (Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, or Passport is acceptable).
  • Category certificate (if applicable).
  • Disability certificate (if applicable).

Steps to Apply for Railway RRB Group D Recruitment 2026

The RRB Group D application process started from 21 January 2026 and continued till 20th February 2026. The steps to apply for the Railway RRB Group D Recruitment 2026:

  1. Go to the official RRB website
  2. Find “New Registration,” and click it
  3. A new page will appear where you have to fill in basic details to generate your registration number and password.
  4. Now, using the registration number and the password, log in.
  5. Complete Part I (personal and educational details) and Part II (post preferences, exam language, ID, and bank details).
  6. Upload the required documents like photo, signature, and category certificate (if applicable).
  7. Pay the fee online via Net Banking, Card, UPI, or through an offline challan.
  8. After payment, review the form carefully, accept the declaration, and submit the application.

RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria 2026

RRB Group D 2026 Eligibility Criteria

According to the RRB Group D 2026, the eligibility criteria is based on nationality, education, and age limit. Only the candidates who meet these criteria can apply for the RRB Group D recruitment. According to the recent notification, CCAA-certified candidates are also eligible for Railway Group D 2026.

Nationality:

To be eligible, a candidate must be:

  • An Indian citizen,
  • A Nepalese or Bhutanese citizen,
  • A Tibetan refugee, arrived in India before 1st January 1962, or
  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, or Vietnam to settle permanently in India.

RRB Group D Education Qualification

  • Candidates must already have the Educational/Technical qualifications prescribed in the CEN from recognized Institute/University as on the last date 20th February 2026 for submission of online application.
  • Diploma /Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in place of Course Completed Act Apprentices/ITI for the post of Level-1, unless otherwise specified.
  • A Graduate Act apprentice will not be accepted in place of a Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA).
  • Those awaiting results of their final examination of the prescribed minimum educational/technical qualification should not apply.

Medical Standards

After qualifying Stage 1 and Stage 2, candidates are required to go through a Medical Examination, which is conducted according to the Railway Administration's medical fitness standards. The standards are tabulated below:

Railway RRB Group D 2026 Selection Process

The RRB Group D recruitment process involves the following stages:

  1. Computer-Based Test (CBT): This is a test to check proficiency in Maths, General Intelligence, Reasoning, and General Awareness.
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): This is the next stage, where your physical capability is checked through various activities like running and jumping.
  3. Medical Examination: After PET, candidates undergo a medical check-up to prove that they are physically fit according to the fitness standards of the Railway Recruitment Board
  4. Document Verification: All submitted documents will be verified to validate the details provided during the application process.

RRB Group D 2026 Level 1 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern can vary as RRB can conduct CBT in either a one-stage or multi-stage mode. In the written exam (CBT), there is a negative marking of 1/3rd marks for each incorrect answer.

Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying percentage to be shortlisted for the next stage are as follows:

  • General (UR): 40%

  • EWS: 40%

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC & ST: 30%

After clearing the CBT round, candidates undergo a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which is then followed by Medical Examination and Document Verification processes.

RRB Group D 2026 Admit Card

The RRB Group D 2026 Admit cards will be released 10 to 12 days before the date of the examination. After qualifying the Stage-1 (CBT), candidates will receive a separate admit card for Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Applicants download this admit card using their login credentials (Registration number, Roll Number, Date of Birth, and Password)

RRB Group D 2026 Answer Key

The answer key will be released by the RRB soon after the CBT is conducted. The provisional answer key is for the candidates to check their responses against the correct ones and allows them to raise objections against any answer by paying a nominal fee. After the objections are reviewed, the final answer key will be released.

RRB Group D 2026 Result

The Railway Recruitment Board will declare the CBT results to let all the applicants know who will be moving forward to the next round, which is the PET. After the PET round takes place, candidates will be shortlisted for the Medical Examination and the Document Verification process.
