Introduction to RRB Group D Cut Off
What is the RRB Group D cut-off?
The RRB Group D cut-off marks are the minimum marks that a candidate has to secure in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) to move to the next stage of the selection, which is the PET. These cut-off marks are released region and category-wise by the RRB after the results. These marks serve as the benchmark to shortlist candidates from the large pool of applicants.
How is the cut-off determined?
The RRB Group D cut-off marks are determined after considering various factors like the number of applicants that year in the particular zone, the number of vacancies that year in that zone, the difficulty level of the exam, the overall performance of the candidates and the normalization trends.
What are the Minimum qualifying marks for RRB Group D exam?
To move on to the next stage, candidates must get the minimum qualifying marks for their category in the CBT, as per RRB rules.

Factors affecting cut-off scores
The RRB Group D Cut Off 2026 is based on various factors listed below:
- Number of vacancies released that year: The cut-off marks are generally lower when the number of openings is high and higher when the openings are lower.
- The level of difficulty in the CBT exam: Cut-off marks go lower if the difficulty level is higher than the previous years.
- Number of applicants that year: A huge number of applications increases the competition, thereby increasing the cut-off marks.
- Zone-wise demand: The popular regions or zones that have urban centres sometimes have higher cut-offs.
- Category reservation and normalization: The cut-off varies based on category-wise reservations, with relaxation provided for SC, ST, OBC, and EWS candidates. Additionally, the normalization process ensures fairness by adjusting scores across different shifts to balance difficulty variations.
