Factors Influencing IBPS RRB Clerk Cut-Off 2025

The IBPS RRB Clerk cut-off scores are based on various factors listed below:

  • Number of vacancies released that year: The cut-off marks are generally lower when the number of openings is high and higher when the openings are less.
  • The level of difficulty in Prelims and Mains exams: Cut-off marks go lower if the difficulty level is higher than the previous years.
  • Number of applicants that year: A huge number of applications increases the competition thereby increasing the cut-off marks.
  • Category reservation and normalization: The cut-off varies based on category-wise reservations, with relaxation provided for SC, ST, OBC, and EWS candidates. Additionally, the normalization process ensures fairness by adjusting scores across different shifts to balance difficulty variations.

IBPS RRB Clerk Cut-Off vs Safe Score for Selection

The IBPS RRB Clerk Cut-off 2025 is the minimum score a candidate needs to qualify for the next round. However, just clearing the cut-off doesn’t guarantee the candidate’s selection.

To have a better shot at getting selected, candidates must aim for a safe score, which is higher than the expected cut-off.

For example:

  • If the expected prelims cut-off for a state is 68, a safe score would be around 73-75.
  • This buffer accounts for variations in difficulty level, normalization, and competition.

Strategies to Score Above IBPS RRB Clerk Cut-Off

To be able to crack the IBPS RRB Clerk Exam, candidates should strategically plan their preparation for the exam. By being consistent, practicing regularly, and concentrating on their areas of weakness, aspirants can score about the expected cut-off.
