IBPS RRB PO Age Limit & Relaxation

The candidate must be 18 to 30 years old to be eligible for the IBPS RRB PO Exam.

Candidates belonging to the reserved categories can make use of the benefits of age relaxation as per the rules of the Government of India.

Here is the category-wise age relaxation provided to each category:

In the case of Ex- servicemen commissioned officers, including ECOs/ SSCOs, who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within the next one year from the last date for receipt of application) other than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability attributable to military service or on invalidment, subject to ceiling as per Government guidelines

(for the post of Officers) 5 years

Widows, Divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried

[only for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose)] Age concession upto the age of 35 years for General/EWS, 38 years for OBC and 40 years SC/ST candidates

IBPS RRB PO 2026 Educational Qualification

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government of India.
  • Candidates with a degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics, or Accountancy will be preferred.
  • Candidate should be a graduate on or before the registration date, as they have to enter their graduation marks while applying.
  • Having a basic working knowledge of computers is desirable but not mandatory
  • Knowing how to read, write, and speak the local language (as prescribed by the participating RRBs) is preferable.

IBPS RRB PO 2026 Nationality

To be eligible, a candidate must be:

  • An Indian citizen,
  • A Nepalese or Bhutanese citizen,
  • A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before 1st January 1962, or
  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, or Vietnam to settle permanently in India.

Maximum Number of Attempts in IBPS RRB PO Exam

There is no maximum number of attempts for the exam mentioned in the official IBPS RRB notification. This means candidates can appear for the exam as many times as they want to, as long as they meet the eligibility criteria based on their nationality, age and educational qualifications.
