How to Apply for SSC MTS Havaldar 2025

The online application process for SSC MTS Recruitment starts from 26th June 2025. Here is by step-by-step guide on how to apply for the SSC MTS and Havaldar posts:


1.    Go to the official website of the Staff Selection Commission www.ssc.gov.in.
2.    On the homepage, you will find the link for “Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination 2025.” 
3.    Click on “Apply.”
4.    Register yourself by providing the details required.
5.    After registration, the application form will appear. Enter all the details and necessary information, and move to the next section
6.    Pay the application fee by using the payment options convenient to you.
7.    After the completion of the payment, download a copy of the application form for future reference.

SSC MTS 2025 Application Fee

  • The application fee for SSC MTS 2025, for the General category, is ₹100, and it can be paid through various online modes like Net Banking, Credit/Debit Cards, UPI, or BHIM.
  • Candidates from the SC, ST, PWD, and Ex-servicemen categories do not have to pay the application fee. Female candidates are also eligible for the same exemption.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC MTS 2025

Nationality:

To be eligible, a candidate must be:

  • An Indian citizen,
  • A Nepalese or Bhutanese citizen,
  • A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before 1st January 1962, or
  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, or Vietnam to settle permanently in India.

Age Limit (as on 01.08.2025)

The age limits for the posts of SSC MTS and Havaldar, according to recruitment rules, are:

  • Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS)- A candidate must be a minimum of 18 years of age and must not exceed 25 years of age.
  • Havaldar Age Limit- A candidate must be a minimum of 18 years of age and must not exceed 27 years of age.

Candidates belonging to the reserved categories can make use of the benefits of age relaxation as per the rules of the Government of India.

Educational Qualification

To apply for the SSC MTS 2025 Recruitment, candidates must have passed the Matriculation (i.e., Class 10th) or an equivalent exam from a recognized board, University, or Institution.

However, there is no minimum percentage required in class 10th to apply for these posts.

SSC MTS 2025 Language Options for CBT

SSC has declared that the SSC MTS Exam will be held in English, Hindi, and 13 other regional languages through a computer-based medium. Candidates are allowed to choose the language they are comfortable with.

SSC MTS Havaldar 2025 Selection Process

The SSC MTS and Havaldar Recruitment Process involves two stages. Candidates must qualify for each stage by scoring more than the cut-off marks.

The two main stages are:

  1. A computer-based test (CBT)
  2. A Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) for the post of Havaldar.

Stage 1 (CBT) will be the same for both posts. After both stages, candidates are required to go through the document verification process.

SSC MTS Recruitment takes place in two stages: Paper 1 (CBT) and PET/PST for the Havaldar post

SSC MTS Havaldar Paper-1 Exam Pattern 

Paper 1 is the same for both posts. It consists of a Computer-Based Test, which is divided into 2 sections, and attempting both sections is mandatory.

SSC MTS 2025 Salary & Job Profile

The post of MTS and Havaldar falls under the Pay Level-1 as per the 7th Pay Commission, with a pay band of ₹5,200–₹20,200 and a Grade Pay of ₹1,800. After all the allowances are deducted, the SSC MTS in-hand salary is between ₹18,000 to ₹22,000 per month. This depends on the post and the job location. Additional benefits like DA, HRA, and TA are also applicable as per government rules.
