The Ministry sanctioned 18,338 additional houses for the state.
In accordance with the sanction, the first installment of the Central share of Rs 109.10 crore was also released for the construction of the additional houses.

The PMAY is a housing initiative of the Government of India launched in 2015 to provide affordable housing to the urban and the rural poor.

Through EMS, applicants/ allottees will be able to apply for allotment of industrial/ commercial/ residential plots, pay dues online and also availpost-allotment services with respect to their plots. Web-based GIS will facilitate applicants/allottees to know about land availability, provision of basic amenities, like roads, sewage, electricity etc. and proximity to roads, railways, airports, dry ports etc.

Sunder Sham Arora, Industries and Commerce Minister highlighted that all PSIEC allotees will be given access to an online dashboard which will be used for managing all aspects of their industrial plot. Post-allotment services shall be made available online, including, applying Water/Sewage connection, Permission to Mortgage, Registration of Lease Deed/ Conveyance deed, Issuance of No Dues Certificate, Conversion from Lease to Freehold etc.

Seeking to address some of the most pressing issues facing India, including air pollution, through innovation, the United Nations Development Programme on Thursday launched the country chapter of its Accelerator Lab in New Delhi.

The laboratory that will be housed in the UNDP India office has partnered with the Indian government’s Atal Innovation Mission to achieve its objectives.

“India is an epicentre of innovation and we are pleased to launch an Accelerator Lab here too, where innovators will seek to bring in their energy together to come up with solutions for common problems facing the country,” United Nations Resident Coordinator in India Renata Lok-Dessallien said at the launch.

2. NDTV gets IPI award for excellence in journalism for 'Kathua case expose'.

The International Press Institute India award for excellence in journalism has been given to private news channel NDTV for its "expose of the conspiracy to scuttle" the Kathua rape and murder case probe.

The expose of the hypocrisy across the political spectrum "represented excellence in journalism", anchored by senior journalist Nidhi Razdan, a statement issued by the India chapter of the Vienna-based International Press Institute said.

IPI India had instituted the annual award in 2003 to recognise and honour the best work done by an Indian media organisation or journalist in print, radio, television and internet mediums, in furtherance of public interest, including safeguarding of freedom of the press and other freedoms such as human right.

3. Centre to fine up to Rs.5 lakh for misuse of national emblems.

The government of India has proposed an increase in the fine for illegal and inappropriate use of national emblems for commercial gains in an attempt to stop its misuse. The fine is likely to be increased from Rs 500 to Rs 1 lakh with jail-time, the fine can go up to Rs 5 lakh for repeated offenders.

The Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act, 1950, restricts improper use of the national flag, the coat-of-arms used by a government department, the official seal of the President or Governor, the pictorial representation of Mahatma Gandhi and the Prime Minister, and the Ashoka Chakra.

In another update to the law, the onus on proving that the use was lawfully authorized will now be on the violater as opposed to the current state where the government has to prove the violation.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government had rolled out 100 standard buses earlier this month. Since August this year, a government spokesperson said, "As many as 329 new standard floor buses have been added to the existing fleet by the Delhi government."

"Now, the cluster bus fleet operated by the Delhi Integrated Multi Modal System (DIMTS) has 2,008 buses," the spokesperson said. The chief minister hoped that the addition of new buses will resolve the shortage of public transportation in the Capital.
