According to a press release issued by the bank, under the scheme, card holders will be able to avail the loans via point-of-sale (POS) machines across India. They can buy the products at 40,000+ merchants and stores in 1,500+ cities having Pine Labs branded POS machines totaling.
 
The consumer can opt for an EMI tenure of minimum six months up to 18 months. Card holders can also take loans for consumer durables in less than a minute.

Haryana Chief Minister-elect Manohar Lal Khattar will take oath as Haryana's new chief minister on Sunday afternoon. Manohar Lal Khattar will be the first non-Congress chief minister in 53 years to form his second successive government.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staked claim to form the government in Haryana after it forged a post-poll alliance with the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) -- an offshoot of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) -- which came into being nearly 11 months back.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Haryana Raj Bhawan at 2.15 pm on Sunday. The event is likely to be attended by senior BJP leaders besides the chief ministers of neighbouring states.

The Union government plans to make Ladakh the first Indian union territory (UT) to run completely on renewable energy. The newly carved out union territory has already about 30 mega-watt (MW) of small hydro projects and the government wants to install solar generation units to meet all its power demand from renewable energy sources. Ladakh was made an independent union territory after the government recently revoked the Article 370.

Aanand Kumar, secretary, ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE), told FE that the UT currently has a demand of around 53 MW and new solar plants is planned to be added by the end of 2020 to make the area completely run on renewable energy. “The idea is to reduce the heavy dependence of diesel in the area.” Kumar added.

4. Indian Railways to transform 200 saloons in luxury tourist trains.

The railways will be converting 200 saloons into 10 luxury tourist trains in India in order to control the use of the colonial era-style coaches, and also to increase its income.

Reportedly, the carriages were made to be used only as inspection cars by the railway officials to visit distant locations, the saloons feature two bedrooms, a lounge, a pantry, and a toilet and a kitchen which are meant to sustain a five-day-long journey.

This time, a certain number of saloons will be reserved for the use of railway officials for inspection, 200 carriages will be used by the IRCTC as tourist trains. Once converted into tourist coaches, ten coaches will set aside for public use.

As per the press reports, the railway board has made a list of instructions for its zones to regulate the number and use of such saloons. The instructions also state that the saloons should be only used for inspection with emphasis on safety. Every railway division will get a self-driven inspection car with windows at both sides.
