While inaugurating the 27Annual Conference of the Indian Academy of Neurology in Hyderabad on Thursday, Naidu said, "Conferences like IANCON 2019 along with other concentrated efforts will help spread awareness and contribute towards early detection on the growing epidemic of non-communicable diseases like brain stroke, epilepsy, headaches, and other diseases related to the brain and the spine."

1. Centre launched PRAKASH portal to monitor coal supply power plants.

The government has launched a portal for better coordination among the ministries of power, coal and Indian Railways for coal supply to power plants.

The Prakash portal – ‘Power Rail Koyla Availability through Supply Harmony’ – will enable all stakeholders to monitor coal right from mines to transportation, power Secretary SC Garg said. This is a laudable project in ensuring adequate availability optimum utilisation of coal at thermal power plants, Coal Secretary Anil Jain said.

The Portal is designed to help in mapping and monitoring entire coal supply chain for power plants, viz - - coal stock at supply end (mines), coal quantities/ rakes planned, coal quantity in transit and coal availability at power generating station, an official statement said.

2. INS Tarkash arrives at Reunion Island in France.

As part of Indian Navy's overseas deployment to Africa, Europe and Russia, Indian Naval Ship Tarkash arrived at St Denis, Reunion Island, France on Thursday for a three-day visit.

Commanded by Captain Sathish Vasudev, the ship is a potent frontline frigate of the Indian Navy equipped with a versatile range of weapons and sensors. The ship is part of the Indian Navy's Western Fleet and under the Operational Command of Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, based at Mumbai, read a statement.

During the port call, the Commanding Officer will pay courtesy calls on various dignitaries and government officials at Reunion Island including the Superior Commander of French Naval Forces in Southern Indian Ocean, Prefect of Reunion Island and the Mayor of Le Port.

He said that this was a unique hi-tech van equipped with an LED to raise awareness about best digital practices.

HDFC Bank provided a cheque of Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on the occasion. The present state government during the last about 20 months has provided financial assistance of Rs 30 crore to the poor and needy.

The renamed New Delhi-Ludhiana Intercity Express will ply from New Delhi to Lohian Khas via holy city Sultanpur Lodhi. The request to rename the train was made by Mrs Badal on the occasion of the 550th Parkash Purb. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Harsh Vardhan said, several trains have been started by the government to facilitate people but this train will have blessings of Guru Nanak ji. Dr Harsh Vardhan said it is a gift for Delhiites and countrymen.

Terming Guru Nanak as a messenger of peace, Mr Goyal said that the joy and celebrations to participate in the 550th anniversary of Guru Nanak on November 12, is unimaginable. He said renaming of this train is an initiative to follow the path shown by Guru Nanak ji. Mrs. Badal said, it is a historic moment for Sikhs and congratulated Railway Minister Piyush Goyal for accepting her request to rename the train.
