In the second leg of his visit, the Prime Minister will arrive in Indore where he will attend the Madhya Pradesh Shehari Vikas Mahotsav and remotely inaugurate various urban development projects worth over 4000 crore rupees, at various locations across the State.

These include houses under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana, urban drinking water supply schemes, urban solid waste management, urban sanitation, urban transportation and urban landscape projects.

India and Cuba on June 22, 2018 signed two Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) in the field of biotechnology, traditional medicine and homoeopathy.

The agreements were signed following delegation-level talks between President Ram Nath Kovind and his Cuban counterpart Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel at Revolution Palace in Havana, Cuba.

The President was accompanied by a delegation including Minister of state for steel Vishnu Deo Sai and two Members of parliament.

Meanwhile, envoys from the Ministry of Science and Technology of both the sides agreed on an MOU to deepen collaboration on biotechnology. In this context, a Letter of Intent was signed between BioCubaFarma, Cuba's state company for pharmaceutical and biotechnology products, and India's Kalam Institute of Health Technology.

Microsoft announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Bonsai, an artificial intelligence (AI) startup based in San Francisco, to boost its AI and machine learning capabilities.

Based in Berkeley, California, Bonsai was founded in 2014 and has around 42 employees.

Bonsai CEO Mark Hammond worked for Microsoft as an engineer in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Microsoft bought another two small AI startup companies, SwiftKey and Maluuba, in 2016 and early 2017.

The largest private sector lender HDFC Bank has become the only domestic brand to be featured in the BrandZ's top 100 most valuable global brands ranking at the 60th slot with a brand valuation of USD 20.8 billion.

With the 2018 ranking, the Aditya Puri-led bank has jumped 14 notches since 2015, when it was valued at USD 14.2 billion.

BrandZ is an offering from Millward Brown, which is a WPP Group company, the world's largest communications agency.

The list is topped by Google. Other brands in the top 10 are Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Tencent, Facebook, Visa, McDonalds, Alibaba, and AT&T.

4. Retired IPS officer K Vijay Kumar has been appointed as an Advisor to the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.

Senior security advisor in the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, retired IPS K Vijay Kumar, assumed charge as advisor to Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra. After BB Vyas, Kumar is the second advisor appointed to the Raj Bhawan after imposition of Governor’s rule in the state.

A 1975-batch IPS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, Kumar (66) has served in the Kashmir previously as Inspector General of the Border Security Force (BSF) between 1998 and 2001 and also as the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) between 2010 and 2012, before he was appointed as a Senior Security Advisor in MHA.

The newly appointed advisor reviewed security arrangements in the state “with the top police brass during his maiden meeting here.” The meeting was attended by Director General of Police S.P. Vaid, Director General Prisons, Special DG and other officers.

5. The government has appointed Arjit Basu as managing director of the State Bank of India.
