Chinese artificial intelligence giant Baidu Inc. has tested its two self-driving cars on an unused expressway in north China's Tianjin City.

It was the first time for a Baidu driverless car to be tested on an expressway, according to the company.

The trial run would enable developers to collect data on the cars' performance in positioning, sensing the environment and self control, according to Wang Xiaolong, a senior engineer with the road test team of Baidu's self-driving cars.

The 33-km section where the test was conducted is part of the Tangshan-Langfang expressway scheduled to open later this year.

In this direction, all Administrative Secretaries, Head of Departments and Managing Directors of Boards, Corporations and Public Undertakings have been directed through a written communication to ensure replacing all inefficient lighting with LED lamps or tube lights by August 15, 2018, said a spokesman of New and Renewable Energy Department.

As per directions of the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, all halogen, sodium bulbs and tube lights will be replaced with energy-efficient LED bulbs and tube lights.

The cities, which include Darjeeling, Siliguri, Serampore, Madhyamgram, North Barrackpore, Bankura, fared abysmally on all sanitation indicators such as waste collection, open defecation, solid waste processing and disposal, the survey found.

Three cities each from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are also among the dirtiest, figuring in the bottom of the list.
