This year, the GCNI convention is of a greater significance as it is coinciding with the UN India Business Forum being hosted on June 7.

As part of a long term association, Accenture, will support the event as the Knowledge Partner of GCNI.

D K Hota, CMD, BEML is the convention's chairman, while Shashi Shanker, CMD, ONGC, will be its president.

India has bagged the 76th position in a list of the world's most powerful passports, granting its holders visa-free access to 59 countries.

The results are part of citizenship planning firm Henley and Partners' annual passport index, which ranks passports based on the number of countries a holder can go to without a visa or the number of countries a holder can go to where they can obtain a visa.

As per the annual passport index, Japan has been deemed the world's most powerful passport, with access to 189 countries.

Singapore and Germany, on the other hand, have secured the second place with both having access to 188 countries.

According to a Morgan Stanley report, India is expected to be a leader in shared mobility by 2030 as rising share of electric and autonomous vehicles will improve shared mile economics.

According to the global financial services major, India offers all the right ingredients to be one of the largest shared mobility markets in the world as it has large population clusters, a young demographic that is well connected to the internet and rising real incomes.

By 2030, Morgan Stanley expects shared miles to reach 35 per cent of all the miles travelled in India and this will further increase to 50 per cent by 2040.

2. India is going to the 3rd Asia Cup International Bridge Championship 2018.

India will host the 3rd Asia Cup International Bridge Championship starting from June 4-11 and will see participation from countries including Australia, Bangladesh, China, Japan and Korea.

The championship, to be held in Goa, will be contested in five categories namely men, women, mixed, super-mixed and senior.
Players from Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Singapore and Thailand will be participating in the event.

Round robin matches will be played from the June 5-8. Four top teams in each category will progress to the knock-out stage.

Semi-finals will be contested on June 9 and. The finals and play-offs for 3rd place will be played on June 10.

The tournament will also have a Match Point pairs contest which is an open event.

3. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is organising ‘Financial Literacy Week’ across the nation from 4 June to 8 June 2018.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is organising ‘Financial Literacy Week’ across the nation from June 4 to June 8, 2018.
The theme of the literacy week this year is ‘Customer Protection’.

The main aim behind the initiative is to create financial awareness among bank customers about financial products and services, good financial practices and digitisation.

Key Highlights
 
The week will focus on four consumer protection messages like ‘know your liability’ for unauthorised electronic banking transaction and good practices for a safe digital banking experience.

Among various messages, the customers will be told through banners and posters that in case of unauthorised digital transaction if the bank is informed within 3 days, the liability of the account holder is zero.

Further, the resolution of the complaint is to be done by the bank concerned within a period not exceeding 90 days from the date of receipt of the complaint.

Besides, banks have also been asked to create awareness about Banking Ombudsman scheme of the RBI.

The week will see participation from bankers, financial literacy counsellors (FLCs) and other stakeholders to create awareness regarding the same.

Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan is being implemented in 25 villages in each of the 111 Aspirational Districts from 1st June to 31st July, 2018.

The Ministry of Agriculture and farmers’ welfare in line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of doubling farmers’ income by 2022 has launched the Krishi kalyan Abhiyaan from 1st June, 2018 till 31st July, 2018 so as to aid, assist and advice farmers on how to improve their farming techniques and raise their incomes.

The Krishi kalyan Abhiyaan will be undertaken in 25 Villages with more than 1000 population each in Aspirational Districts identified in consultation with Ministry of Rural Development as per directions of NITI Ayog. In districts where number of villages (with more than 1000 population) is less than 25, all villages will be covered.
