According to RBI’s statement, interest subsidy scheme on short-term crop loans of up to Rs 3 lakh will be implemented through the DBT mode from the current financial year.

The government has earmarked Rs 15,000 crore for 2018-19 towards interest subvention for short-term crop loans.

In a notification, RBI also said the Interest Subvention Scheme (ISS) 2018-19 will be required to be settled as applicable in Plan Scheme — Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and North East Region (NER), among others.

The agriculture and farmers welfare ministry has informed RBI that it has initiated the process for continuation of the ISS 2018-19. PTI

Andhra Pradesh now has been declared the Open Defecation Free (ODF) State.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said the State achieved the national cleanliness goal by constructing 2.77 lakh individual toilets.

Naidu who was traveling through Chittoor district unveiled a plaque in Tirupati to honour the achievement.

Andhra Pradesh has completed the task of constructing toilets but they have to be used by every individual. For that, the administration has to take up some awareness programmes. In October 2016, all of Andhra Pradesh’s urban areas were declared as open defecation free on the occasion of MK Gandhi’s birth anniversary.

Rajib Banerjee, the state Irrigation minister, said: "We will be investing Rs 107 crore to check erosion of the banks of river Ganga and Padma."

The work that will be carried out by investing the money, will be completed by the end of March 2019. Hundreds of people will get relieved as they would no longer have to worry about their houses getting washed away by strong currents.

Terming the new portal as one step solution for industrialists, Arora said that  Regulatory clearances of all other departments would be integrated in the portal.

Three Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru are ranked among the top 10 cities globally for GDP risk from terrorism threats, a recent study found out.

Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore stood at fifth, sixth and seventh in this aspect, in the latest edition of Lloyd's India's City Risk Index (CRI).

The study further noted that threats from conflict and terrorism account for more than half (58 per cent) of the risk to India's economic output annually amounting to USD 9 billion.

The medical device sector hailed Andhra Pradesh's move to to use auto-disable syringes for all clinical purposes from World Hepatitis Day on July 28 to prevent infection.

Andhra Pradesh would be the first state in the country to take this move, which will be enforced from the World Hepatitis Day, said Association of Indian Medical Device Industry (AIMED) Forum Coordinator Rajiv Nath.

In an unprecedented move, the Haryana government has directed sportspersons employed with it to deposit one-third of their earnings from commercial and professional commitments to the state sports council, drawing sharp criticism from the athletes.

One-third of the income earned by the sportsperson from professional sports or commercial endorsements will be deposited with the Haryana State Sports Council. The money shall be used for the development of sports in the State.
