How to IBPS PO 2026 Apply Online

 

The IBPS PO 2026 application process will begin on 1st July 2026. The application process will take place on the official website of IBPS, www.ibps.in. Here is how you can apply for the IBPS PO 2026:

1. Go to the official website, ibps.in.
2. Find the link on the homepage to access the application portal. It should be labelled as “CRP PO/MT.
3. Click on “Click here for New Registration” to start a new registration.
4. Enter your basic details to complete your registration process. This will generate a registration ID and password, which will be sent to your email ID and phone number. Note it down.
5. After the registration is completed, fill out the application form and upload the required documents. Detailed information on the required documents is given in the following section.
6. Review the details you have filled in before submitting the form.
7. After review, pay the application fee through net banking, UPI, or debit/credit card.
8. Download your application form and save it along with the payment receipt for future reference.

Candidates are advised to have these documents ready before starting their application process:

1. Scanned Photograph and signature: Ensure the file size and the dimensions meet the specified requirements.

2. Handwritten Declaration: Candidates are required to write a declaration on a piece of white paper with a black/blue pen and upload a scanned copy of it. This declaration has to be written by the candidate:

 “I, __________ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”

3. Left thumb impression: A scanned copy of the candidate’s left thumb impression.

IBPS PO 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are advised to thoroughly check the eligibility criteria before applying for the IBPS PO 2026 Recruitment. If any candidate fails to meet any of these conditions, they will not be allowed to continue with the recruitment process.

There are different eligibility components for the selection, like:

  • Nationality

  • Age Limit

  • Educational Qualification

1. Nationality

To be eligible, a candidate must be:

  • An Indian citizen,

  • A Nepalese or Bhutanese citizen,

  • A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before 1st January 1962, or

  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, or Vietnam to settle permanently in India.

2. IBPS PO Age Limit

As per the official IBPS PO 2026 notification, only candidates born between 02 July 1996 and 01 July 2006 can apply as on 01st July 2026. Age limits are given below:

3. IBPS PO Educational Qualification (as on 21/07/2026)

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. 

  • Documents: Candidates must have their degree certificate or mark sheet at the time of application, clearly stating the percentage of marks. 

  • Computer Literacy: Basic computer knowledge is required 

  • Language Proficiency: Candidates are required to know the official language of the state/UT they are applying for, including the ability to read, write, and speak the language. 

Detailed IBPS PO 2026 Eligibility Criteria 

IBPS PO 2026 Selection Process

IBPS PO Recruitment 2026 is conducted to recruit Probationary Officers and Management Trainees through the Common Recruitment Process. The selection process comprises three stages Prelims, Mains and Interview process. Only qualified candidates move to final selection. The details of the stages are discussed below:

1. Prelims exam:- It is the first stage with three 20-minute sections, 100 questions for 100 marks, and sectional cut-offs.

2. Mains exam:-  It has four objective sections (200 marks), a 25 mark for descriptive paper and is required for Interview qualification.

3. Interview:- After Mains exam, shortlisted candidates attend a 100-mark Interview (40% qualifying) with final selection based on 80:20 Mains and Interview ratio.

IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2026 – Prelims and Mains

The preliminary, Mains (Objective and Descriptive), and the Interview rounds are the three stages included in the IBPS PO 2026 exam pattern. The exam is held online, and each section has its own time limit in prelim exam. To proceed forward in the IBPS PO selection process, candidates must pass every stage.

IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern 2026

The IBPS PO mains exam pattern consists of five sections, four of which are objective type and one is descriptive. The objective section carries 200 marks, which has to be completed in 160 minutes, while the descriptive paper (Essay & Letter Writing) carries 25 marks and lasts for 30 minutes.

IBPS PO Interview stage

Candidates who qualify for the Mains exam move to the personal interview round, and it carries 100 marks. For the final selection, the candidate must score at least 40% (relaxed to 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories) in the interview. The interview goes on for 15 to 20 minutes, where a panel of banking officials asks questions about the candidate’s background, banking sector, current affairs, and general awareness.

Final Merit List Calculation

The final merit list is made using the Mains marks and interview marks with a weightage ratio of 80:20. This is how the final score is calculated:

  • Prelims marks are not considered because the Prelims exam is qualifying in nature.

  • Only the candidates who have cleared the Mains and interview rounds separately are eligible.

  • The combined score (out of 100), where Mains marks account for 80% of the score and interview marks account for 20% of the score.

The final merit list of IBPS PO 2026 will be prepared after combining the marks obtained in the Mains exam and the Interview.
